May 8, 2008 - The President says we are gonna get some money in the mail and it happens to be pissing down rain here in DC, they say tornados are a possibility. I don't know who to believe. I think it might be time for a pre-emptive strike. Mission Accomplished. It has been so long since I last wrote something. Well, a lot has been happening.
Shortstack put out their amazing 'Covers EP'. Seriously it is amazing. I am not just saying that because we put it out. They just played a show here in town and blew my mind. They are so good. Adrian sits down when he plays, but trust me, you will be standing up and dancing!
The Apes also put out a record, I think it is their 5th release, Ghost Games, this is the first one with the new singer Breck. I often wonder how long he will be called the new singer. The Apes just played here in town too. Majestic Ape was teaching everybody the joys of the Shocker. All were duly impressed. They have some shows coming up, go see them here…

Revival and John Bustine have joined forces. We don't know what to call them, other than tremendous!!! They will be playing weekly shows at our very own venue called Comet Pizza and Ping starting on a Wednesday very soon. Seriously, very soon, like next week or something. Come, see them, it will be like the old days when not only was Jerry Garcia alive, he was skinny! — Actually I just checked online to see if Jerry was ever really skinny, he sort of was, anyway, I found a wicked version of Loser — it is one of my favorite Dead tunes: "Loser" - August 6, 1971, Hollywood Palladium (webmasters note: this show also has what is probably the best version of "Hard to Handle" the Dead every played. Legend has it that Jerry dropped to his knees during the guitar solo.) — and one I want our newly formed supergroup to play it, so maybe this will force their hand. You can see John Bustine play at the Black Cat on May 17th and you can see Revival play at a Surfrider Benefit show at the National Harbour on June 21st.
Brandon Butler has been up to something so super secret that we had to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Seriously, we did. I think you will hear a lot about him soon! Aside from that, he is making some new music, it is pretty killer judging from the word on the street. I saw him play at The Federal Reserve night a while back and he played a couple of his new songs. The guy is a borderline national treasure.
Well, that about does it. My lady called, it is raining, the metro has stopped running, she needs to be picked up from work. That means you are saved from my ramblings. Do me a favor, go buy something from our store, I promise, I will send it out toot-sweet!
